Knight's Armament Company has been a key member of several different night vision product development specialist teams for almost 20 years. KAC has been providing Clip-on Universal Night Sights under the trademark UNS® to the United States Military for 10 years. The AN/PVS-22, AN/PVS-26, and AN//PVS-29 have all been type classified Knight's products. KAC is proud to offer a full line of world-class mission specific night vision products:
KAC's night sighting and sniper rifle integration efforts during the 1990's were responsible for the creation and early operation of what is labeled today as a "clip-on" night sight. The clip-on sight eliminates the consequential loss of zero, which occurs with a stand-alone sight, and the point of impact does not change on the day scope cross hairs. Knight's Armament's development of this technology was ground breaking in the night vision industry and has taken manual target acquisition to a new level. This very same technology was incorporated into KAC's development of the original UNS®, which was later designated the AN/PVS-22.
Further advances have been made with the development of the UNS® LRLP A1, which make the scope unique and stand alone. It can operate on a single battery, either one AA or one DL123. It has the ability to operate for several hours (6+) using an otherwise "dead" DL123 battery discarded from a flashlight or any number of other electronic devices. It allows the battery to be changed while the shooter remains in the shooting position. The UNS® LRLP A1 is also capable of operating in extremely cold weather
(-46°C). The newly developed UNS® LRLP A1 is in a class of it's own.
