KAC Muzzle Break
Knight’s Armament was founded as an R&D firm and has
since kept up the tradition of pragmatic solutions and ingenious design work in all
of our products. Our various muzzle brakes serve as one example of this tradition.
From our QDC series of flash suppressors, to our markedly popular Triple Tap
compensator, and to the neutral bias MAMS brake, the interoperability, superiority,
and practicality of these brakes are clearly seen.
Knight’s QDC series of flash suppressors feature multi-length and multi-angle
openings which help assist in effectively reducing flash signature by providing
multiple avenues of escape for the gasses which accompany a round. They are also
equipped with the indentions necessary for use with KAC’s latest line of QDC Sound
Suppressors.
The Triple Tap enhanced compensator is another suppressor-compatible muzzle brake
that is actually designed as a sacrificial baffle to extend the life of a
suppressor. As gasses travel through the weapon’s barrel and reach the Triple Tap,
the forward baffle prevents forward motion of the gasses. This not only reduces felt
recoil of the weapon but also forces the gases to exit through the many ports of the
Triple Tap. Most flash suppressors offer escape ports in a general 180 degree area.
The Triple Tap provides 270 degrees of available avenues for those gases to escape
through. This helps fight against rise and drift, creating a more controllable
weapon, especially under high cyclic firing rates.
The MAMS (Multi-Axis Muzzle Stability) Brake is a result of recoil management
studies which were conducted in cooperation with the US Government. They reduce felt
recoil by up to 60% and provide a truly neutral bias brake. The design of the MAMS
incorporates features that diffuse the high pressure muzzle gases which make them
incredibly forgiving when firing in CQB conditions. Also incorporated in the design
of the MAMS are the QDC indentions, making it compatible with Knight’s QDC sound
suppressor line. This powerful tool is an all in one muzzle brake that increases
controllability, reduces flash signature and felt recoil, while providing a neutral
bias and sound suppression capabilities.
